ADHD Assessment

Our Services

Our ADHD Assessments

Comprehensive Assessments for Children & Adults | Optional Psychiatrist Medication Review for Adults (17+)

Our clinicians provide thorough, evidence-based ADHD assessments for children, adolescents and adults, helping you understand what’s happening, establishing diagnostic clarity and determining what the next steps should be.

Children’s ADHD Assessments

Many families seek an ADHD assessment because of:

  • Difficulties at home and emotional outbursts
  • School recommendations or concerns raised by teachers
  • GP or allied health professional recommendations
  • Parental observation of ongoing challenges
  • Academic or behavioural concerns that aren’t improving

For children, our assessment process provides clear feedback, a comprehensive diagnostic report and practical recommendations that support both home and school environments. We also offer coordinated referrals for medication treatment options where indicated.

Adult ADHD Assessments

With Optional Psychiatrist Appointment

Many adults live with undiagnosed ADHD for decades. You might benefit from an assessment if you experience:

  • Attention and focus difficulties — losing track during conversations, struggling to complete tasks, or misplacing important items.
  • Executive function challenges — difficulty starting tasks, chronic procrastination, or underestimating how long things take.
  • Emotional regulation patterns — intense reactions to frustration, rejection sensitivity, or disproportionate mood fluctuations.
  • Restlessness and impulsivity — fidgeting, interrupting others, or an internal sense of restlessness.
  • Longstanding patterns — present since childhood, even if not identified at the time.

Psychiatrist Medication Review (Optional)

Adults who wish to explore medication can access our partnered psychiatrist after completing their assessment. Our coordinated pathway allows eligible clients to progress from assessment to psychiatric consultation much faster than traditional 8–15 month wait times.

Assessment Standards That Meet Psychiatric Requirements – Our assessments are comprehensive enough that partnered psychiatrists accept them without requiring additional evaluation. This means fewer appointments and no repeat assessments.

Clear Process, No Uncertainty – You’ll know exactly what to expect at each stage. We guide you through the pathway step-by-step, providing clarity rather than leaving you to figure out next steps independently.

Chatswood Location – Our clinic is located in Chatswood with easy access to public transport and parking options. We also have Telehealth options available.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an ADHD assessment cost?

Contact our team for current fees. We can provide information about what’s included and any Medicare rebates that may apply to your circumstances.

Do I need a GP referral?

A GP referral with a Mental Health Care Plan allows you to access Medicare rebates for psychology appointments. We recommend discussing this with your GP before booking.

For a step-by-step walkthrough of the GP appointment — including what to say and what referral types to ask for — read our guide to getting an ADHD diagnosis in Australia.

Can you assess children and adolescents?

Yes, we provide ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. The assessment process is adapted to suit different age groups, and we work with parents and caregivers to gather the developmental history and collateral information needed for accurate diagnosis.

What if ADHD isn’t identified?

If your assessment doesn’t result in an ADHD diagnosis, you’ll still receive a comprehensive report with findings and recommendations. Understanding what isn’t causing your difficulties can be just as valuable as a diagnosis, and we can discuss alternative explanations and support options.

Will I definitely be prescribed medication?

Medication decisions are made by the psychiatrist during your review appointment. Our assessment provides the diagnostic information needed for that conversation, but medication is one of several treatment options and the decision is made collaboratively based on your circumstances and preferences.

Is the assessment conducted in person or online?

Both options are available. You can attend your assessment in person at our Chatswood clinic, or complete it online via Telehealth from the comfort of your home. Both formats follow the same comprehensive assessment process, so you can choose whichever suits your circumstances.
